Xerox Color Printer
Different people need different products and such is the case with printers as well. Small offices are perhaps some of the most demanding environments for printers. Large business environments have mostly the same needs except they require more than one printer for every set of employees.
For a small office it’s wisest to choose a color laser workhorse that can keep up with a larger volume of printing and offer several features that help boost productivity and overall satisfaction of usage. While the top selling brands are generally HP and Canon, Xerox doesn’t do so bad in offering reliable office devices either.
The Phaser 6125/N is a Xerox color printer that costs less than most of its competition. As is normal, for less money it also offers less features and performance. But is the compromise on features worth the smaller price payed? Overall, if a business is not very pretentious, it seems that the value offered really is worth the price.
As soon as you see it it’s clear that this device was designed for an office. The tall monolithic Phaser 6125/N comes with blue highlights and a two-line backlit LCD situated right on the front center, part of the control panel. Also on the control panel you’ll find several useful control buttons. The design is simple and to the point, but Xerox gave another more important issue some thought, namely space saving.

This is why the Phaser manages to be compact and measures just 389 x 400 x 394mm. The Phaser 6125/N prints at around 16 pages per minute. This speed is slightly slower than what other similar priced lasers would offer. Speed is one area in which this Phaser is far from remarkable. Printing quality isn’t very impressive either. It works well for most tasks, text looks sharp and proper and color images have the necessary quality to please most people at work.
Along with the printer you’ll get drivers for both Windows and Max OS X. The driver is also said to work with most Linux versions. Sadly, while print quality and speed manage to be average, the worst issue of this printer proves to be printing cost. Most color laser printers manage to keep the price down and offer cost efficiency throughout usage. This Xerox color printer comes with a black cartridge that can yield 200 pages and a color one that will work for about 100 pages. After all is said and done, this printer comes up with page costs of 2p for black and a much more expensive 10p for a mixed color-black page.
The drum, that’s sufficient for about 30000 is unfortunately not replaceable. So the higher the volume of printing that’s happening in your office, the sooner you’ll get to say goodbye to this printer. Whether it’s worth the small buying price or not, it’s up to each user to decide whether the Xerox Phaser 6125/N is a good addition to their office.
