Sharp MX-2300n Printer

For an office to work well every day, employees tend to rely on a series of efficient and reliable devices to keep in touch with other companies, customers, print and copy various documents or do precise reports. The general rule tends to be the more cost-effective, fast and rigorous you are, the better the business tends to work. One device that’s mandatory for an office nowadays is a high-quality multifunction printer. While Hp is currently most known on the market for such devices, Sharp seems to be offering a brilliant alternative as well, the MX-2300N.

Along with the Sharp MX- 2300N printer, the company introduced a whole line of multifunction devices, ranging in speed between 23 and 45ppm, namely the MX-2700N, MX-3501N and the MX-4501N. The whole line is meant to provide cost effective color printing and a series of useful features. All the models in Sharp’s MX line make use of the manufacturer’s multitasking controller technology that features dual job queuing.

Because the whole line features an USB slot, it’s easy to simply print any document directly from a USB memory device. It’s also possible to scan a document using the printer and then conveniently store it straight on your USB memory stick. You’ll also be able to send the scanned documents, in a number of file formats (including Tiff, PDF, encrypted PDF and JPEG) to a PC, FTP server or an e-mail. Firmware updates can also take place by using the same stick.

The MX-2300N, a more entry-level printer, was designed for medium or even low-volume office use. With a speed of 23 ppm, it’s not the fastest, brightest printer on the market, but users don’t have to take that much money out of the pocket either. So All-in-all it’s a good compromise. The 23 ppm speed is the same for both color and mono printing and copying. Some of it’s more advanced features include inbound fax-routing to e-mail and advanced user account management as well as several layers of network and data security further enhanceable by data security kits that encrypt document data through 128bit encryption. As if that weren’t enough, all the printers in the series, including the MX-2300N, have some accounting and management tools, thus only authorized personnel may have access to the printer.

Sharp’s MX-2300N printer offers 200 user accounts that are customizable for better management of the machine. The printer can also be set up to work only after a correct ID and password has been entered on the control panel touch screen. To an extent it also means to save the company money, as limitations such as number of color prints per user in a given month can be implemented. The unit’s feeder has a capacity of 100 sheets and offers double side sheet printing. With the help of Sharp’s micro-fine toner technology and advanced image stabilization, the quality of the prints is outstanding for an office printer. Aside from the monitoring of ambient conditions (insuring that humidity and temperature are all optimal), you also get a series of finishing selections.
