HP Officejet 6310 Printers
There are many printer manufacturers to choose from on the market and it’s hard to make a choice knowing that Canon, Epson and HP all offer top quality and competitive printers. Printers are not the type of devices you can chose from by simply reading a specification sheet or reviews.
This is because at one point you’ll find printers with the same features that are all claimed to have good quality printing and about the same speeds. This is why any brand will do, even the less popular ones, if the printer has all the features you need. But for some reason HP seems to still keep a slight bit ahead when it comes to consumer satisfaction. HP’s range of multifunction printers includes a large number of devices. Since the company practically invented the concept of an office all-in-one, we can trust that they can offer the needed reliability.

The HP Officejet 6310 printers were designed to appeal to small offices and home office users. Most printers in the Officejet line that were released around the same time share the same design which is characterized by a wider but less deep shell. The small form factor of these printers makes them fit perfectly even in offices that don’t have a lot of space to offer (like some home offices that tend to have relatively small desks). When you think office, you immediately assume that there will be no photography features of any kind.
Well, the Officejet 6310 proves you wrong and offers a PictBridge port as well as memory card slots for people who want to print without the help of a PC. Memory card types supported are xD, Compact Flash, Memory Stick and SD. Connecting a Bluetooth adapter to the USB port will also let you print from any compatible camera phone. Since it was designed for office use, the 6310 also includes Ethernet, despite it’s reasonably affordable price.

The control panel will seem very familiar for any person that has owned another HP multifunction printer. There is a distinct set of buttons for each function that the 6310 offers. Thus you’ll get your scan, copy and faxing buttons, including an alphanumeric keypad, speed dial button or auto-answer button.
The two-line backlit LCD is good enough to let you print from camera or card and navigate through the menu. One area in which HP Officejet 6310 printers aren’t so good seems to be paper handling. On the front of the machine you’ll find the input/output tray that can hold up to 100 sheets. The output tray should be fully extended when you start printing or you should be prepared to collect your prints from the desk of floor.
Under the hood you’ll find two Vivera ink cartridges, one for black and the second a tri-color cartridge. Both as speed and print quality the HP Officejet 6310 proved to be average. While HP claims 8.5 pages per minute on normal quality, the 6310 barely manages to cross the 4 pages per minute barrier. So, what can we say about this printer? For an affordable price, average is everything you might ever want.
