The Brother MFC-8860DN flatbed laser all-in-one printer with duplex was designed for copying, faxing and scanning sheets or bound documents. It also features an option offered by the digital copier, which allows users to enlarge documents with 25 to 400 percent, and make 99 copies that can also be organized. The legal sized copies can be done either from the glass or automatic document feeder.

To the previously enumerated characteristics we can add up the duplex (two sided) printing, copying, faxing, and scanning options. These are important assets that permit transforming the simple documents, duplicating them directly from the print menu. In this way, it is easier to print the document on both sides, rather than manually turn the page on the other side too. This process is similar to scanning the document on sides, faxing, or copying.

In scanning, you can scan two single sided papers and turn it into one page, the same process being possible with the copying as well. The scan can also be faxed as a duplex document undergoing only one step, without further modifications, and will be received as such.

In the case of Windows or OS X 10.2.4, there is the “scan to” optional button that permits to sending the scan to an FTP site, OCR, E-mail application, image application, or file. These processes were created nonetheless to reduce the sending time and reduce scanning errors as well. The 5 lines LCD display available for the MFC-8860DN flatbed laser, are meant to ease the sending process as well, by simply choosing between the faxing addresses stored in the network address archive. Thus, the faxes and internet faxes will be easily sent to the selected addresses, rapidly and without any errors.

Also, the scanning option was equipped with the OCR software and document management features. There is also the valuable built-in wired Ethernet option for networking, ensured by the MFC-8860DN flatbed laser. This flatbed laser is compatible with the Mac and PC OS such as: Windows 98/NT4.0/2000/Me/2000/XP and Mac OS 9.1-9.2, OS X 10.2.4 or other. It also allows standard emulations of BR-Script3 or PCL6, and you will receive a one year warranty in case you will need it.
