The Samsung CLP-315W printer was equipped with built-in wireless connectivity options, an important option that offer the users the possibility to wireless connect many computers at the same printer.
Its design is boxy, and at the same time does not need a very wide space for storage. In fact, it is quite small, the smallest in its class. Another important advantage when you consider buying this Samsung CLP-315W printer is the possibility to change each cartridge at a time, thus saving more money. However, these advantages do not cover the lack of speed, or the not so good quality of the printings. This is why we consider that the price established at $250, is a bit higher than it should be according to its real capacities.
The most important feature of this wireless printer is the minimalist design, resembling with a black piano that has glossy plastic trim and a compact appearance. Its dimensions measure 15.3 inches wide, 12.3 inches deep and 9.6 inches tall, while its weight reaches to 24.3 pounds. You can agree that this wireless printer is much smaller than the usual laser printers available on the market. As a comparison, we name the Dell 1320c which is half bigger than the Samsung CLP-315W, and its weight is accordingly heavier as well, while it does not feature the wireless connection option.

At the top, the Samsung CLP-315W printer does not have any special design, being quite simple and lacking auxiliary elements that other printers form the same category have. It has one power button and some LED lights that show the status of the wireless connection, as well as the paper jam problems or toner shortages. There is a removable paper tray at the bottom side of the printer, which is spacious enough and holds up to 150 sheets of paper that can measure from 8.5 to 14 inches.
There are four toner cartridges you will use for printing, one of them is black, and the others are colored. The access to them is made from the front of the printer’s case, very easy. There is one dedicated capacity for each cartridge of 1,000 pages, which can be found in various specialty stores. The cartridges aren’t too heavy either, and thus they can be easily handled when changing is required. There is a certain number of pages the Samsung CLP-315W can print every month, of only 20,000 pages, which will not easily fit into a business environment either.

The 802.11b/g built in option makes the wireless printing possible, while installing this option’s driver is previously done through an USB 2.0 port. It will not prove easy the wireless option setting, but it will work flawless after it has been established. A printed report will be available when you will set the wireless option, which will take you step by step to the final connection. There is a report about the IP address and the SyncThru Web Service, from which the later will generate a connection wizard to help you through the rest of the setting process. This process will not take more than half an hour.
